Football Game Preview: St. Patrick Fighting Irish vs. Tylertown Chiefs + Official Tickets

St. Patrick is 0-4 against Tylertown since October of 2015 but things could change on Friday. The Fighting Irish will venture away from home to challenge the Chiefs at 7:00 p.m. Tylertown took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on St. Patrick, who comes in off a win.

St. Patrick will bounce into Friday's matchup after beating St. Stanislaus, who they had gone 0-3 against in their three prior meetings. The Fighting Irish took down the Rock-a-Chaws 38-21 on Friday. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Fighting Irish considering their seven-point performance the contest before.

Meanwhile, Tylertown played a tough game on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They lost 54-30 to Columbia. While losing is never fun, the Chiefs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi football rankings (they are ranked 90th, while the Wildcats are ranked eighth).

St. Patrick will have to keep a close watch on Keonnis Davis and Landon Thompson, a pair of players who had a big impact on Tylertown's prior game. Davis threw for 237 yards and three touchdowns, while Thompson gained 81 total yards and three touchdowns. Davis is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in each of the last three games he's played.

Tylertown's defeat dropped their record down to 5-3. As for St. Patrick, their victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 3-5.

St. Patrick was dealt a bruising 54-7 loss at the hands of Tylertown in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Davis, who threw for 281 yards and six TDs while completing 73.9% of his passes. Now that the Fighting Irish know the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
