Basketball Recap: Long Beach's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Long Beach came into Saturday's matchup having lost four straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the St. Patrick Fighting Irish on Saturday, sneaking past 50-47. This was a revenge game for the Bearcats: when they faced off against the Fighting Irish back in November of 2024, they had to take a 65-51 defeat.

Long Beach's victory bumped their record up to 5-14. As for St. Patrick, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-12.

Long Beach will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Hancock at 7:30 p.m. on January 7th. As for St. Patrick, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Tylertown at 7:15 p.m. on Friday.
