Baseball Recap: Fairview Wins Going Away Against Symmes Valley

Fairview won the last time they faced Symmes Valley and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Eagles were the clear victors by a 9-2 margin over the Vikings.

Tanner Reihs spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on ten hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Fairview got a big performance out of Jeffery Everetts, who scored two runs and stole three bases while getting on base in two of his five plate appearances. Those three stolen bases gave Everetts a new career-high. Eli Cummings also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Fairview is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Symmes Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Fairview will square off against Raceland at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Symmes Valley, they will face off against Eastern at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
