York is 0-8 against Lyons since April of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The York Dukes will head out on the road to square off against the Lyons Lions at 6:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
York is headed into the game fresh off scoring the most goals they have all season. Their defense stepped up to hand Proviso West a 9-0 shutout on Thursday. Given York's advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois soccer rankings (they are ranked 12th, while Proviso West is ranked 364th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Lyons waltzed into their contest on Saturday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They were the clear victor by a 4-0 margin over the Roadrunners. Four seems to be a good number for Lyons as the team scooped up a win with the same number of goals in their previous game.
