Basketball Game Preview: Dexter Bearcats vs. Woodland Cardinals

On Tuesday, Dexter came up short against Puxico and fell 53-43. While losing is never fun, the Bearcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 169th, while the Indians are ranked 41st).

Meanwhile, Woodland humbled Bell City with a 78-43 victory. The Cardinals have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matches by 32 points or more this season.

Dexter's loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 7-9. As for Woodland, their victory bumped their record up to 11-2.

Things could have been worse for Dexter, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 78-60 loss to Woodland when the teams last played back in December of 2024. Can Dexter avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
