Basketball Game Preview: Henderson Lions vs. Carthage Bulldogs

Henderson hasn't had much luck against Carthage recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Henderson Lions will take on the Carthage Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

Last Friday, Henderson took a blow against Kilgore, falling 60-31.

Meanwhile, Carthage was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were one points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 44-43 heartbreaker at the hands of Pine Tree. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1413th, while the Pirates are ranked 544th).

Henderson's defeat dropped their record down to 3-17. As for Carthage, their loss dropped their record down to 1-6.

Henderson came up short against Carthage in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, falling 48-42. Can Henderson avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
