Basketball Game Preview: West Grand Mustangs vs. Hayden Tigers + How To Watch

Having just played yesterday, the West Grand Mustangs will jump right back in to play the Hayden Tigers at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. West Grand comes in still looking for their first win of the season.

West Grand is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against De Beque on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Mustangs were dealt a 71-43 loss at the hands of the Dragons. The Mustangs were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 47-13.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Sanjay Geffers, who almost dropped a double-double with 20 points and nine rebounds. Hugo Gonzalez was another key player, putting up nine points in addition to six boards and four blocks.

Meanwhile, Hayden was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Friday as they fell 60-54 to Dolores.

West Grand's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Hayden, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3.

West Grand didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Hayden in their previous meeting back in February, but they still walked away with a 56-51 win. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was the Tigers' Jace Bene, who shot 53% from the field en route to 22 points and four steals. Now that he's got a second chance to win this matchup, will the Mustangs still be able to contain Bene? There's only one way to find out.
