Volleyball Recap: Agawam Takes a Loss

Agawam entered their match against Westfield on Saturday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Brownies took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bombers. The Brownies were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Bombers earlier this season, when they won 3-0.

Joseph Culhane paced Agawam's offense, picking up 17 kills. Culhane got some help from David Dzhenzherukha and his 37 assists. Dzhenzherukha was also a major player on defense: he and John Cote shared the team lead in blocks, finishing with three each.

Agawam suffered their first home loss, dropping their record down to 19-2. As for Westfield, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-4 record this season.

As of now, neither Agawam nor Westfield have any future games scheduled.
