Baseball Game Preview: Calico Rock Pirates vs. West Side Eagles

Calico Rock is 0-10 against West Side since March of 2021 but things could change on Monday. The Pirates are taking a road trip to take on the Eagles at 4:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

While Calico Rock's win against Shirley wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Pirates sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 16-15 victory over the Blue Devils on Tuesday. The Pirates haven't had any issues with the Blue Devils recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive win against them.

West Side came out on top against Guy-Perkins on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive seven-run seventh inning. The Eagles were the clear victors by a 14-4 margin over the Thunderbirds. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matchups by ten runs or more this season.

Calico Rock's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for West Side, their win bumped their record up to 7-4.

Calico Rock might still be hurting after the 13-2 loss they got from West Side in their previous matchup back in March. Can the Pirates avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
