Recap: New Site Royals vs. Kossuth Aggies
The New Site Royals waltzed into Tuesday's game with four straight wins but they left with five. They snuck past Kossuth with a 45-41 win. For New Site, this counts as revenge for the 61-56 loss Kossuth walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2022.
New Site was led to victory by Chloe Chism and Brooklyn Hodum. Chism dropped a double-double on 11 points and 10 rebounds, while Hodum scored 26 points along with 7 rebounds and 3 steals. The match was Chism's eighth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Chloe Moreland, who scored 6 points along with 3 steals.
New Site's win bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Kossuth, they bumped their record down to 6-4 with that loss, which was their fourth straight at home.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. New Site will take on Mantachie at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Mantachie will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Mississippi Rankings (they are ranked 137th, while New Site is ranked 37th). As for Kossuth, they will be playing at home against Ripley at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
