Baseball Game Preview: Lake Mills L-Cats vs. Deerfield Demons

The Lake Mills L-Cats are taking a road trip to challenge the Deerfield Demons at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams are out to turn their luck around after having lost tight contests in their previous games.

Lake Mills is headed into Tuesday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Monday. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 4-2 heartbreaker at the hands of Fort Atkinson. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the L-Cats have suffered since May 18, 2024.

Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Deerfield's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They fell just short of Luther Prep by a score of 7-5.

Landon Brattlie made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two runs and one triple. Another player making a difference was Bryce Eickhoff, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one run.

Lake Mills' defeat dropped their record down to 8-5. As for Deerfield, their loss dropped their record down to 6-6.

Lake Mills took their victory against Deerfield in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 10-1 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the L-Cats since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
