Basketball Game Preview: Roosevelt Rough Riders vs. Geneva Eagles

The Roosevelt Rough Riders will head out on the road to square off against the Geneva Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Last Friday, Roosevelt was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 44-40 to Buchtel.

Roosevelt might have lost, but man, Jaiden Portis was a machine: he went 9-for-17 en route to 21 points in addition to six boards and three steals. The Rough Riders are 2-1 when Portis posts three or more steals, but 6-13 otherwise.

Meanwhile, Geneva was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 68-60 hit to the loss column at the hands of Harvey. While the Eagles didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Red Raiders 13-9 in the first quarter.

Roosevelt's defeat dropped their record down to 8-14. As for Geneva, their loss dropped their record down to 13-9.
