Basketball Game Preview: Wilson Warriors vs. Lexington Golden Bears

Wilson and Lexington are an even 5-5 against one another since November of 2016, but not for long. The Wilson Warriors will challenge the Lexington Golden Bears at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Wilson will be strutting in after a win while Lexington will be coming in after a defeat.

On Saturday, Wilson didn't have too much trouble with St. John Paul II as they won 74-57. Given the Warriors' advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 189th, while the Falcons are ranked 421st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Lexington didn't have quite enough to beat Lauderdale County on Friday and fell 42-40.

Wilson's victory bumped their record up to 17-9. As for Lexington, their loss dropped their record down to 8-10.

Wilson strolled past Lexington in their previous matchup back in December of 2024 by a score of 66-47. The rematch might be a little tougher for Wilson since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
