For the first time this season, Christian will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will welcome the Madison Warhawks at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Christian is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.
For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Christian and Santa Fe Christian meet (three straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Friday. The game between the Patriots and the Eagles didn't end well, with the Patriots falling 28-14. While the Patriots didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Eagles 7-0 in the first quarter.
Despite their defeat, Christian saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Kai Rosier, who rushed for 99 yards, and also picked up 31 receiving yards, was perhaps the best of all. Rosier showed off some serious burst, cutting through the defense on one rush that went for 54 yards. Another player making a difference was Kaleb Runkle, who rushed for 59 yards and one touchdown.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Madison, who bounced back after a loss on the road on September 5th. They claimed a resounding 46-19 victory over Sweetwater. The Warhawks' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Christian better keep an eye on Adrian Sola. He was instrumental in Madison's win, rushing for 129 yards and four scores while picking up 7.2 yards per carry, and also picking up 34 receiving yards. Jallen White was another key rusher, rushing for 58 yards and one TD on only five carries.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Madison was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 311 rushing yards. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their rushing yard total in three consecutive contests.
Madison didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Jamarri William and Tallon Lampert.
Christian's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Madison, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.
