Softball Recap: Washington County Comes Up Short

Washington County couldn't beat Southern Choctaw on Monday even though they stacked five runs on them in the sixth inning. The Bulldogs lost 19-10 to the Indians. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Bulldogs have suffered against the Indians since April 9, 2019.

Bella Turner was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Rylee Snow, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Washington County's defeat dropped their record down to 12-14. As for Southern Choctaw, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 15-7-1.

Coming up, Washington County will take on Millry at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Southern Choctaw, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Marengo at 12:00 p.m. The timing is sure in the Indians' favor as the team sits on six straight wins at home while the Panthers have been banged up by six consecutive losses on the road.
