Basketball Recap: Kankakee Trinity Academy Comes Up Short

Kankakee Trinity Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 11th straight defeat. They had to suffer through a 50-5 loss at the hands of the Families of Faith Christian Academy Screaming Eagles. Sadly, that's the third time they've come up short against Kankakee Trinity Academy this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 52-22 back in December of 2024.

Makenna Burkhardt was Kankakee Trinity Academy's leading scorer, having posted four points. Macey Monacelli held things down on the boards with four rebounds.

Families of Faith Christian Academy found their leader in sophomore Lilly Saltzman, who went 9 for 11 on her way to 24 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Saltzman has scored all season. Gia Vitale was another key player, putting up ten points.

Kankakee Trinity Academy's loss dropped their record down to 0-11. As for Families of Faith Christian Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season.

Kankakee Trinity Academy will be playing at home against Calvary Christian Academy at 5:30 p.m. on January 21st. Families of Faith Christian Academy has already played their next contest (against Crossroads Christian), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
