Baseball Game Preview: Moline Maroons vs. East Moline United Panthers

For the second straight game, Moline will face off against East Moline United. The Maroons will square off against the Panthers at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

Moline easily dispatched Galesburg on Wednesday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. The Maroons fell just short of East Moline United by a score of 11-9 on Monday. The defeat continues a trend for the Maroons in their meetings with the Panthers: they've now lost three in a row.

For East Moline United's part, Kellan Kennedy was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. That's the most runs Kennedy has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Zach Darras, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

East Moline United has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-10 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.3 runs over those games. As for Moline, their loss dropped their record down to 17-12.
