Volleyball Recap: Brookfield East Comes Up Short

Brookfield East was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Menomonee Falls Phoenix. The Spartans were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Phoenix earlier this season, when they won 2-1.

Brookfield East took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 16-25, 16-25, 25-15, 15-11.

Maggie Czajka paced Brookfield East's offense, picking up 14 kills. Czajka got some help from Hailey Schneiker and her 26 assists. Izzy Green controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Brookfield East's loss dropped their record down to 24-8. As for Menomonee Falls, their victory was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 22-7.

Brookfield East has already played their next match, a 2-0 win against Waterford on the 4th. As for Menomonee Falls, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-1 defeat against Divine Savior Holy Angels on the 7th.
