Softball Recap: Hilliard Snaps Nine-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

Hilliard made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Providence School, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Red Flashes never let the Stallions get on the board and left with a 9-0 victory on Monday. That nine run margin sets a new team best for the Red Flashes this season.

The result came thanks to Camdyn Beasley's shutout, as she gave up just three hits and racked up 12 Ks.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Peighton Self, who went 3-for-5 with three doubles and three RBI. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in February of 2024. Kierstin Northern was another key player, scoring two runs while going 3-for-5.

Self wasn't the only one making solid contact: Hilliard kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Hilliard's win ended a nine-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-12. As for Providence School, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-11.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hilliard will welcome First Coast at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Providence School, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Fleming Island at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Golden Eagles' pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so the Stallions' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
