After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Kelseyville, Clear Lake was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They walked away with a 3-1 win over the Lower Lake Trojans. The victory continues a trend for the Cardinals in their matchups with the Trojans: they've now won nine in a row.

Clear Lake had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 14-25, 25-11, 27-25, 25-19.

Aniya Jaurequi paced Clear Lake's offense, picking up 11 kills. Jaurequi got some help from Jazmin Wiebusch and her 27 assists. Jaurequi also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Faith McIntire, each putting up three.

Clear Lake's win bumped their record up to 7-10. As for Lower Lake, their loss dropped their record down to 0-9.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Clear Lake is set to square off against their familiar foe Middletown at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Lower Lake will challenge rival Cloverdale at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
