Basketball Recap: CJ Miller Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Broadalbin-Perth

Amsterdam won the last time they faced Broadalbin-Perth and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Amsterdam Rams walked away with a 49-40 win over the Broadalbin-Perth Patriots. Given the Rams' advantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 80th, while the Patriots are ranked 348th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Amsterdam got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was CJ Miller out in front who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 16 boards. Another player making a difference was Jude Flint, who posted ten points along with six rebounds and three steals.

Amsterdam smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in five consecutive contests.

Amsterdam is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season. As for Broadalbin-Perth, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-9.

Amsterdam will venture away from home to challenge Glens Falls at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Glens Falls will roll in looking for their 17th straight win, something Amsterdam surely won't give up without a fight. Broadalbin-Perth has already played their next matchup (against Oneonta), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
