Baseball Recap: Bishop Watterson Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Win

The scorekeeper got an easy start on Friday as neither Bishop Watterson nor Highland made it on the board until the fifth inning. The Eagles won by a run and slipped past the Fighting Scots 5-4. The win was familiar territory for the Eagles, who have now won four contests in a row.

Max Steinbrunner tossed a big game, tossing five innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Ben Burleson, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Ben Uhlenhake, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one double.

Bishop Watterson's record now sits at 17-3. As for Highland, their defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 3-5.

Coming up, Bishop Watterson will venture away from home to take on Johnstown-Monroe at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Highland, they will welcome Lexington at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
