Football Recap: Cheatham County Central Drops Season-High Score on Hunters Lane + How To Watch

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Cheatham County Central). They came out on top against the Hunters Lane Warriors by a score of 42-34 on Thursday. That's more bragging rights for the Cubs, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Cheatham County Central was led to victory by Walker Hobbs and Luke Austin. Hobbs rushed for 189 yards and three TDs while picking up 7.9 yards per carry, while Austin rushed for 135 yards and a pair of touchdowns while picking up 7.5 yards per carry. Those 135 rushing yards gave Austin a new career-high.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Cheatham County Central was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 401 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

The victory got Cheatham County Central back to even at 4-4. As for Hunters Lane, they are on an 11-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-8.

Cheatham County Central and Hunters Lane will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next contests. The next time the Cubs see the field they'll take on Fairview at 7:00 p.m. on the 24th. As for Hunters Lane, their break will end when they face Station Camp at 7:00 p.m. on the 24th.
