Volleyball Recap: Western Christian Beats Southlands Christian for Their 13th Straight Win

Western Christian waltzed into their contest on Thursday with 12 straight wins... but they left with 13. They came out on top against the Southlands Christian Eagles by a score of 3-1. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-0 last Tuesday.

The victory didn't come easy: Southlands Christian scored at least 20 points in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 20-25, 25-22, 25-21.

Jacob Roberts paced Western Christian's offense, picking up 24 kills. Roberts got some help from Mack Kurth and his 45 assists. Robert Castillo and Carter Doolittle kept things locked in from the service line: the pair finished with two aces apiece.

Western Christian pushed their record up to 18-5 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Southlands Christian, their defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 10-7.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Western Christian will take on Los Osos at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Southlands Christian, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on NOVA Academy at 5:00 p.m. on the 22nd.
