East Marion made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Tylertown, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Eagles blew past the Chiefs 13-1 on Monday. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won seven matches by six runs or more so far this season.
East Marion got a massive performance out of Adrinae Aikens, who scored two runs and stole three bases while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. Those three stolen bases gave Aikens a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ayanna Breland, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-1.
East Marion always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .682. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Tylertown only posted an OBP of .375.
East Marion is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 8-10 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.8 runs over those games. As for Tylertown, they are on a 15-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-21-1.
