Softball Recap: Marsh Valley Takes a Loss

Marsh Valley's last matchup with South Fremont could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's contest on Saturday. The Eagles lost 22-11 to the Cougars. The Eagles haven't had much luck with the Cougars recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Olivia Campbell and Mckelle East stepped up to the plate in a big way. Campbell got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs, two RBI, and one double, while East went 3-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. Alyiah Van Lueven also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Marsh Valley's loss dropped their record down to 5-11-1. As for South Fremont, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 9-9 record this season.

Marsh Valley will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Bear Lake at 4:00 p.m. on the 21st. As for South Fremont, they will take on Teton at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
