Basketball Recap: Kake Victorious

Kake hadn't done well against Klawock recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. The Kake Thunderbirds walked away with a 51-38 win over the Klawock Chieftains. This was a revenge game for the Thunderbirds: when they faced off against the Chieftains on Tuesday, they had to take a 52-41 loss.

Kaiya Marvin and Keira Sanderson certainly did their best on Wednesday to avoid the loss. Marvin dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds, while Sanderson posted nine points. Sanderson has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last three times she's played.

Kake's record is now 3-1. As for Klawock, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-8.

Kake does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Klawock, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Skagway on February 4th.
