Soccer Game Preview: Modesto vs. Pitman

The Modesto Panthers will square off against the Pitman Pride at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Modesto is coming into the contest on a six-game losing streak.

Modesto is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to four goals on Wednesday, they were much more limited against Gregori on Thursday. They fell 3-1 to the Jaguars. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 997th, while the Jaguars are ranked 145th).

Meanwhile, while it was all tied up 1-1 at halftime, Pitman was not quite Downey's equal in the second half on Thursday. They fell just short of the Knights by a score of 2-1. Having soared to a lofty seven goals in the game before, the Pride couldn't push the score so high this time.

Modesto's loss dropped their record down to 1-15-3. As for Pitman, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-4-2.

Modesto suffered a grim 9-1 defeat to Pitman in their previous matchup two weeks ago. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Modesto was down 4-0.
