Volleyball Recap: Gloucester Comes Up Short

Gloucester was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 18th straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against the Poquoson Islanders, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Islanders this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in September.

While Gloucester had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 18 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 25-18, 25-21.

Gloucester's defeat dropped their record down to 0-16. As for Poquoson, with the win, they broke their three-match losing streak and moved their record to 11-5.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Gloucester will take on rival Lafayette at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Poquoson is set to challenge their familiar foe Warhill at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
