Volleyball Recap: Martin's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Tuesday + How To Watch

It was a good run, but Martin unfortunately witnessed the end of their ten-match winning streak on Tuesday. They fell just short of South Grand Prairie by a score of 3-2. Martin was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as South Grand Prairie apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

Martin couldn't get the win, but they sure gave South Grand Prairie a tough time in the third set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 19-25, 29-31, 25-22, 15-12.

Kalei Davis paced Martin's offense, picking up 16 kills. Davis got some help from Emma Nguyen and her 42 assists. Olivia Foley controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Leading South Grand Prairie to victory were Aleah West and Gianna Ramos. West had 20 digs and one assist, while Ramos had ten digs. Bailee Brown also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

Martin's loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 13-16. As for South Grand Prairie, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 12 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-9 record this season.

Martin wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against Sam Houston on the 26th. As for South Grand Prairie, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Haltom on the 26th.
