Softball Recap: Palmyra Comes Up Short

Palmyra was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They lost 12-1 to the Carlisle Thundering Herd. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Cougars of the 18-4 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Palmyra saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kate Shenk, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one double and one RBI. That RBI marked the first that Shenk brought in this season.

Palmyra's loss dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Carlisle, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-1.

When Palmyra and Carlisle next hit the field, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Palmyra will face off against Lower Dauphin and their four-game winning streak at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Carlisle will try to stop Red Land's three-game winning streak when they meet at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Carlisle 3.3, Red Land 4) so any runs scored will be well earned.
