Basketball Recap: Gwynn Park Takes a Loss

Gwynn Park was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They took a 70-62 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Douglass Eagles. The Yellowjackets were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Douglass' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Solomon Lewis led the charge by putting up 14 points and seven rebounds. CeeJay Oram was another key player, going 5 for 7 on his way to 14 points.

Gwynn Park's defeat dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Douglass, their win bumped their record up to 9-2.

Gwynn Park has already played their next matchup (against Largo), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Douglass didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 67-56 loss against Flowers on the 25th.
