Baseball Recap: Hibbing's Undefeated Season over After Seven Games

Hibbing lost against Duluth East back in May of 2016, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Bluejackets fell just short of the Greyhounds by a score of 4-3. The loss was the Bluejackets' first of the season.

Hibbing saw eight different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kadin Augustin, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run. Blake Riccio also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Having lost for the first time this season, Hibbing fell to 6-1. As for Duluth East, they moved to 4-9 with that win, which also ended their four-game losing streak.

Coming up, Hibbing will venture away from home to challenge Cloquet at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Lumberjacks have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.54 runs per game on average), something the Bluejackets will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Duluth East, they will host Bemidji at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday.
