Softball Recap: Dunmore Bucks vs. Montrose Meteors
While Dunmore's win against Montrose wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. Dunmore sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 10-8 victory over Montrose on Tuesday. The Bucks haven't had any issues with the Meteors recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Rachel Walsh was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 11 batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits. Walsh was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 3-for-3. What's more, she posted two doubles, the most she's had since back in April of 2024.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kylie Farr, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Emily McGowan, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4.
Dunmore always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .625. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Montrose only posted an OBP of .432.
Dunmore now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Montrose, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.
Looking ahead, Dunmore will be playing at home against Scranton at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Montrose, they will head out to challenge Honesdale at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
