Basketball Game Preview: Eureka Loggers vs. Laytonville Warriors

The Eureka Loggers will take on the Laytonville Warriors in a tournament on Thursday. Eureka is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 60.5 points per game this season.

Eureka took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Saturday. They came out on top against Piner by a score of 79-71. While the Loggers didn't have the best season last year (they finished 12-15), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Eureka's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Elijah Estrada, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and ten rebounds. Those ten boards gave Estrada a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Will Mooney, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and ten boards.

Meanwhile, Laytonville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss dating back to last season. They were beaten by Willits 57-29.

Eureka's victory ended a three-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 5-1. As for Laytonville, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-6.
