Preview: Thomas Jefferson Spartans vs. Evergreen Cougars

After three games on the road, Thomas Jefferson is heading back home. They will take on the Evergreen Cougars at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Thomas Jefferson focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Saturday.

Even though Green Mountain scored an imposing 56 points, Thomas Jefferson still came out on top. Thomas Jefferson walked away with a 65-56 win over Green Mountain.

Thomas Jefferson had a senior duo take command as Doren Sacha scored 19 points along with 3 steals and William Perkins scored 22 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Owen Alleman, who scored 7 points along with 5 rebounds.

Meanwhile, Evergreen struggled with assists on Thursday (Denver South had 1300% more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Evergreen was beaten by Denver South 54-26.

Rob Beldock was Evergreen's leading scorer, having posted eight points. Drew Yager held things down on the boards with nine rebounds. Yager took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with two assists.

The losses dropped Thomas Jefferson to 3-1 and Green Mountain to 1-2.

Tuesday's game is shaping up to be a masterclass in shooting: Thomas Jefferson have been dynamite from deep this season, having drained 49.3% of their threes per game. However, it's not like Evergreen struggles in that department as they've made 34% of theirs this season. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out. Come back here after the game to get analysis of the match and other basketball content.

Thomas Jefferson came out on top in a nail-biter against Evergreen in their previous meeting back in December of 2022, sneaking past 45-42. Will Thomas Jefferson repeat their success, or does Evergreen have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
