Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Jaylen Alexander and Justin Harrison Lead Louisburg to Victory

Louisburg won the last time they faced Durham School of the Arts and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Louisburg Warriors walked away with a 42-35 win over the Durham School of the Arts Bulldogs. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Warriors.

Louisburg was led to victory by Justin Harrison and Jaylen Alexander. Harrison went 6 of 10 on his way to 12 points and seven rebounds, while Alexander posted ten points and five assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Jack Davis, who had six points.

They weren't the only one working in the assists department: Louisburg was working as a unit and finished the game with 13 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Durham School of the Arts only posted seven assists.

Several Bulldogs players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Tony McDonald, who went 5 of 12 on his way to 13 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Craig Griffin, who put up eight points.

Louisburg's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-8. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.3 points per game. As for Durham School of the Arts, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-11.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Louisburg and Southern School of Energy and Sustainability will face off at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday without much rest having both just played. Southern School of Energy and Sustainability knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four matchups -- so hopefully Louisburg likes a good challenge. As for Durham School of the Arts, they will square off against Carrboro at 8:00 p.m. on Friday.
