Basketball Game Preview: East Mecklenburg Eagles vs. Parkwood Wolf Pack

The East Mecklenburg Eagles and the Parkwood Wolf Pack will round out the year against one another at at 10:00 a.m. on Monday. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

East Mecklenburg saw some tournament action on Saturday. They fell 55-45 to West Stanly. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Samariah Freeman, who posted 12 points in addition to five rebounds and three steals. She has been hot recently, having posted three or more steals the last four times she's played. Another player making a difference was Mackenna Weisner, who put up 11 points and three steals.

Even though they lost, East Mecklenburg smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in five consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Parkwood was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They came up short against Lake Norman Charter, falling 59-39.

Parkwood's defeat dropped their record down to 3-9. As for East Mecklenburg, their loss dropped their record down to 2-9.
