Baseball Recap: Friends Select Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Friends Select can now relate to. They lost 8-0 to Germantown Friends on Tuesday. The match marked the first time this year in which the Falcons were not able to get on the board.

Friends Select saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Miles Lesser, who went 1-for-2 with one double.

Friends Select has also been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-5 record this season. As for Germantown Friends, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-9 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Friends Select will take on Executive Education Academy Charter School at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Germantown Friends, they will square off against Jenkintown at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Drakes have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 13.93 runs per game on average), something Germantown Friends will no doubt try to take advantage of.
