Volleyball Recap: St. Johns Comes Up Short

St. Johns was the 3-1 winner over Haslett when they last played one another last Tuesday, but their luck changed this time around. The Redwings fell just short of the Vikings by a score of 2-1 on Saturday.

Rowan Matice paced St. Johns' offense, picking up nine kills. Matice got some help from Lillie Alsup and her 20 assists. Gracyn Woodbury controlled things from the service line, finishing with five aces.

St. Johns' defeat dropped their record down to 14-14-1. As for Haslett, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 12-14.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. St. Johns is set to square off against their familiar foe Fowlerville at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Haslett will challenge rival Williamston at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
