Football Game Preview: Paschal Panthers vs. Polytechnic Parrots + Official Tickets

The Paschal Panthers will challenge the Polytechnic Parrots at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Paschal came up short against Chisholm Trail on Friday, falling 42-21. The loss was the Panthers' first of the season.

The match pitted two dominant backs against one another in Truman Shelton and Xavier Rodriguez. Rodriguez had a great game and rushed for 163 yards and one TD while picking up 7.8 yards per carry. Meanwhile, Shelton did his best for the losing side, picking up 103 receiving yards, while also rushing for 41 yards.

Meanwhile, Polytechnic was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss dating back to last season. They were outmatched by Arlington Heights and fell 65-0. While losing is never fun, the Parrots can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 1059th, while the Yellowjackets are ranked 181st).

Having lost for the first time this season, Paschal fell to 4-1. As for Polytechnic, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-6.

Everything came up roses for Paschal against Polytechnic in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, as the team secured a 50-15 victory. Will the Panthers repeat their success, or do the Parrots have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
