Basketball Game Preview: Liberty Lions vs. Boulder Creek Jaguars

Liberty hasn't had much luck against Boulder Creek recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Liberty Lions duke it out with the Boulder Creek Jaguars at 7:00 p.m. Liberty is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52.8 points per game this season.

Last Monday, Liberty came up short against O'Connor and fell 64-57.

Despite the loss, Liberty saw an underclassman step up: freshman Francesca Sofia posted 23 points in addition to five assists and three steals. The contest was Sofia's sixth in a row with at least ten points. Emma Koker was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on nine points and ten rebounds.

Meanwhile, Boulder Creek was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They lost 61-39 to Willow Canyon.

Liberty's loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-8. As for Boulder Creek, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-16.

Liberty strolled past Boulder Creek in their previous matchup back in January of 2024 by a score of 59-41. Will Liberty repeat their success, or does Boulder Creek have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
