Softball Recap: Eagle Pass' Win on Saturday Extends Winning Streak to 11

Eagle Pass extended their postseason success on Saturday against Harlingen. They walked away with a 9-6 win over the Cardinals. The Eagles are really starting to get used to good results now that the team has won 11 straight.

Sofia Torres tossed a big game, pitching five innings while giving up just one earned (and five unearned) runs off five hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Michelle Torralba was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. Karina Gomez was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Eagle Pass pushed their record up to 24-2 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Harlingen, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 20-11.

Coming up, Eagle Pass will take on Dripping Springs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Tigers' pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so the Eagles' hitters will have their work cut out for them. Harlingen does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
