Baseball Recap: La Joya Gets the Win

La Joya won the last time they faced Hanna and things went their way on Tuesday too. The La Joya Coyotes came out on top against the Hanna Golden Eagles by a score of 5-2. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Coyotes.

Isaac Sayavedra was excellent, going 3-for-4 with three RBI. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Samuel De Leon, who scored a run while going 3-for-4.

Sayavedra wasn't the only one working in the hit department: La Joya kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That's a new trend for La Joya: they were averaging 5.6 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 matches they've averaged 9.8.

La Joya's win bumped their record up to 11-5. As for Hanna, they dropped their record down to 4-10 with the loss, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. La Joya will host Palmview at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday. As for Hanna, they will challenge Edinburg North at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday.
