Baseball Game Preview: Bath County Chargers vs. Narrows Green Waves

Bath County is 1-9 against Narrows since May of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Chargers will host the Green Waves at 5:00 p.m. The two teams are strolling into their matches after big wins in their previous games.

On Friday, Bath County got the win against Pocahontas County by a conclusive 17-7. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Chargers have posted against the Warriors since March 27, 2019.

I Ingram made a big impact no matter where he played. He tossed 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He also tossed no walks, which is notable because Bath County is 2-1 when he allows at most two walks, but 3-9 otherwise. Ingram was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with four runs and one RBI. Those four runs gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, C Lowry was incredible, going 3-for-5 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of O Perdue, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Meanwhile, Narrows won against Eastern Montgomery on Monday with 11 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Tuesday. The Green Waves beat Craig County by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 11-1. Considering the Green Waves have won ten contests by more than seven runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Narrows' win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-2. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.2 runs on average over those games. As for Bath County, their win bumped their record up to 5-10.
