Basketball Recap: Providence Classical Christian Academy Panthers vs. Crosspoint Christian

There's no place like home for the Providence Classical Christian Academy Panthers, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Friday. They put the hurt on Crosspoint Christian with a sharp 38-18 victory on Monday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Providence Classical Christian Academy also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2023.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Providence Classical Christian Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jessica Marcotte, who scored 15 points along with five rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Marcotte has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of CJ Case, who scored six points along with seven rebounds and five assists.

Bekah Petry and Alyssa Berk certainly did their best on Monday to avoid the loss. Petry scored four points along with 14 rebounds and three steals, while Berk scored three points along with eight rebounds and four steals. Petry is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last seven games she's played. Another player making a difference was Ella Cobb, who scored nine points along with seven steals and six rebounds.

Even though they lost, Crosspoint Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 21 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Providence Classical Christian Academy's victory bumped their record up to 6-7. As for Crosspoint Christian, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-14.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Providence Classical Christian Academy will take on the Eagles at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Crosspoint Christian, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against the Patriettes at 4:30 p.m. on January 30th.
