South Decatur hasn't had much luck against Oldenburg Academy recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The South Decatur Cougars will take on the Oldenburg Academy Twisters at 1:00 p.m. Both teams are coming into the match red-hot, with South Decatur sitting on three straight victories and Oldenburg Academy on five.

South Decatur is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They came out on top against North Decatur by a score of 49-39.

South Decatur found their leader in sophomore Taylor Somers, who dropped a double-double with 16 points and 15 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Somers has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Makalya Somers, who posted 12 points and seven boards.

South Decatur was working as a unit and finished the game with 12 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as North Decatur only racked up five assists.

Meanwhile, Oldenburg Academy earned a 51-40 win over Shawe Memorial on Saturday.

Oldenburg Academy's victory bumped their record up to 21-4. As for South Decatur, their win bumped their record up to 15-11.

South Decatur lost to Oldenburg Academy on the road by a decisive 45-27 margin in their previous matchup back in December of 2024. Can South Decatur avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
