Flag Football Recap: Savannah Christian Comes Up Short on the Road Against Islands

Savannah Christian kicked off their season on the road on Tuesday and hit a couple of potholes. They fell 13-6 to the Islands Sharks. If the Raiders were looking for revenge after losing 13-0 to the Sharks when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Islands' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Damron Kathryn, who picked up 96 receiving yards and one TD. Kathryn also deserves a shoutout for her performance on D, making eight total tackles and defending one pass. Kylie Godwin was another key passer, throwing for 154 yards and a pair of touchdowns while completing 75% of her passes.

Islands now has a winning record of 2-1.

Looking ahead, Savannah Christian will look to takes advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they takes on Effingham County at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Islands, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 6-0 victory against Johnson on the 7th.
