Basketball Game Preview: Mercer Island Islanders vs. Woodinville Falcons

The Mercer Island Islanders will head out on the road to challenge the Woodinville Falcons at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Woodinville put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They secured a 58-52 W over Bothell/Inglemoor. Given the Falcons' advantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked first, while the Cougars are ranked 42nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Woodinville's win was their 20th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-0. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 28.2 points. As for Mercer Island, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-8.

Mercer Island suffered a grim 77-52 defeat to Woodinville in their previous matchup back in December of 2024. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Woodinville's Jazlyn Wilkerson, who dropped a double-double on 33 points and 13 boards.
