Softball Preview: West Point Dragons vs. Valley Vista Monsoon
The West Point Dragons will head out on the road to square off against the Valley Vista Monsoon at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday. West Point will be hoping to continue their six-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last.
West Point can now show off six landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Thursday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Valley Vista a 14-0 shutout.
West Point got a great performance from Angelique Chavez as she didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched.
On the hitting side, Ava Villa was a standout: she scored three runs and stole five bases while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Zerianna Gomez, who scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
West Point's victory ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-10. As for Valley Vista, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-11.
